Lyme Regis Golf Club

Lyme Regis Golf Club is one of the South West’s standout courses — and the website needed to match that standard. In 2024 we rebuilt the site around clearer journeys, a full content overhaul, and improved information architecture, backed by a deeper, more premium colour palette and subtle topography detailing that feels true to the sport. Alongside the rebuild, we run Meta Ads to amplify membership offers, promote competitions and events, and keep the club front of mind locally.

Project Brief

Lyme Regis Golf Club approached Sonder with the challenge of bringing their website up to the standard of the course itself. Set on the Jurassic Coast with exceptional views and facilities, the club needed a digital presence that felt premium, was easy to navigate, and worked properly on mobile.

We started by refining their brand direction — consolidating what was already there, moving to deeper tones, and introducing subtle topography details commonly used in course branding to reinforce heritage and quality. With new photography supplied (including drone imagery), the site could finally lead with what makes the club special.

The core focus was clarity for every audience: prospective members, visiting golfers, and existing members looking for day-to-day information. We overhauled content, restructured the sitemap and navigation, and rebuilt key pages around the journeys that matter most — membership, bookings, competitions and events.

Alongside the new website, we run Meta Ads to amplify key membership offers, drive bookings, and promote competitions and events with local targeting, lookalikes, and retargeting.

Project Background

Lyme Regis Golf Club already had the substance — a course and club experience people talk about. The problem was digital presentation and usability: key information was hard to find, booking routes weren’t clear, mobile experience was inconsistent, and internal linking issues created dead ends. The result was unnecessary friction for prospective members and visitors, and a website that didn’t do justice to the club’s reputation.

About the Project

The rebuild focused on two things: make the club feel as premium online as it is in person, and make actions effortless — join, book, enter, attend. That meant a full content overhaul, a clearer IA, and page structure built around the questions people ask at key decision points. We also implemented solid SEO fundamentals so the new site is technically sound and easy for search engines to understand.

How we do it

Achieving results for Lyme Regis Golf Club

Information architecture built around real journeys

We restructured navigation and page hierarchy to reduce friction for the three main audiences: prospective members, visiting golfers, and existing members. Membership, bookings, competitions and events are now easy to find from multiple routes — which is exactly what you want on mobile and for first-time visitors.

Meta Ads to drive bookings, members and event demand

We run ongoing Meta campaigns to amplify key membership offers, promote competitions and events, and drive bookings. Local targeting, lookalikes and retargeting keep spend focused on the people most likely to act — supported by creative that leans into what sells the club best: the course itself.

“I thank all at Sonder for your help and advice along the way, in particular Lillie, who we now look on as part of our team rather than a service provider.”
